Open for Certification: The Pay Equity Standards

The Pay Equity Standards are a rubric and public symbol for equitable pay practices within a theatre company, first launched by On Our Team in 2022.

Designed as a checklist, companies that opt in and meet all the items on the checklist will be granted use of the Pay Equity Standards badge. Certification must happen each calendar year in order to retain use of the badge and remain in good standing with the Pay Equity Standards.

The Pay Equity Standards badge is a marker of equitable pay practices, and will allow audiences to make informed consumption choices, artists to make informed employment choices, and for funders to use as a marker of equity within an organization. The badge can be displayed on the company’s website, marketing materials, social media, and job posts, and used in grant proposals and in discussions with funders, among other uses.
